✦   a founding philosophy

what even
is thaypley?

It's a room. A music player. A marketplace. A cosmic matchmaker. A video platform. A heart economy. A feed that scrolls chronologically with no algorithm deciding what (you) see. Everything (you) need to build a real creative life on the internet — owned by (you), not by a platform.

01 — the name

thaypley isn't a made-up word.
It's a built one.

Start with they/them — the pronouns that made space for everyone the binary left out. Flip the order. thay pley. Now look closer.

The ay of gay lives in thaypley. The le of lesbian lives in thaypley. The pan flag lives in the brand palette — dark pink, yellow, and blue — worn with confidence rather than announced.

The name is not a statement. It is a foundation. A platform named for the people it was built to hold, before a single line of code was written.

"Someone who knows, knows. Someone who doesn't just sees a confident, original brand. Safety can be quiet. Home does not need to announce itself."

02 — the room

Not a profile. A room. Move in.

As kids growing up, we only have one place to escape — our bedrooms. The room we tend to, create in, nourish, and express ourselves through. As we grow older, the concept never really changes. The room simply gets bigger.

thaypley gives that back to every user on the internet. Every person who signs up is assigned a room to move into. Not a profile. Not a page. A room — with everything that word carries. Presence. Ownership. The right to decorate it however (you) want and invite in whoever (you) choose.

Brands get boutiques instead of rooms, because a boutique is the dream for a small business — and on thaypley, that dream gets to exist on the same street as everyone else.

03 — the economy

90 / 10. The artist always gets paid.

Every dollar a listener pays to stream music goes 90% to the artists. Every dollar a viewer pays to watch goes 90% to the creators. Ad revenue from free-tier users doesn't go to thaypley operating revenue — it goes into the same pool and gets distributed the same way.

When a label is linked to an artist's catalog, thaypley splits the payout at source. The artist's share goes directly to the artist's wallet. The label never holds the artist's money. The platform enforces the split — not the label.

"A self-sustaining artistic economy. With its own currency, its own wallet, and a world to spend it in."

04 — what thaypley will never do

These aren't features.
They're commitments.

The feed scrolls chronologically. The room belongs to the user. The money flows to the people who earned it.

  • Sell user information to third parties
  • Serve algorithmic ads inside user feeds
  • Push suggested posts from accounts users didn't choose to follow
  • Let a label intercept an artist's earnings
  • Trap an artist in a platform relationship they can't exit
  • Auction founding access to the highest bidder

05 — starcrossed

Five souls. One star. Already forming.

The algorithm reads the birth chart (you) were born with and the way (you) move through the platform. It finds the five souls that were always supposed to find each other. (You)r star forms the moment the fifth one arrives.

Five roles — anchor, spark, dreamer, mirror, bridge — assigned by cosmic architecture. Permanent the moment the star completes. The universe does not second-guess itself.

For a community that has always had to find its people, a feature that matches five souls by cosmic alignment and gives them a private space to know each other — that is not a small thing.
